In this episode, the StoryBots travel to Music Land to learn how music is made. On their way to meet the King of Music played by guest star John Legend, they face various challenges that they overcome by learning about different aspects of music, from melody and harmony to rhythm and timbre. After this episode, we encourage you to ask your child about what they learned about music, as well as the theme of identifying emotions.

Where Do Planets Come From?

In this episode, the StoryBots head to outer space to investigate a question about how planets are formed. They get help from an astronomy professor (guest star Zoe Saldana) who teaches them about mass and gravity, then get to watch a cloud of dust and gas collapse to form a star and surrounding planets. In this episode, Reggie Watts guest stars as a nurse and teaches the StoryBots about why people look different. The StoryBots take a trip inside of a cell where they learn about DNA, genes, and proteins that are responsible for differences between people. After this episode, we encourage you to ask your child what they learned about DNA and genes, and to talk to them about differences between people.

In this episode, the StoryBots visit a landfill and a recycling center while seeking to answer the question, why do we have to recycle? They meet Angry Annie at the landfill who explains some negative effects of trash on the environment, then learn about reducing, reusing, and recycling from guest star Tony Hale playing the director of a recycling center. After this episode, we encourage you to talk to your child about reducing, reusing, and recycling in your own home, and about themes like empathy that emerge in the episode.

In this episode of Ask the StoryBots, the group travels through cell phones, along radio waves, and into cell towers to learn about how cell phones work. Guest star Jennifer Garner plays a cell tower switching-station operator and teaches the StoryBots how a message gets sent to the intended recipient. After this episode, we encourage you to ask your child about what they learned, and to encourage their curiosity by exploring further if they’re interested in the topic.

In this episode featuring guest star Jason Sudeikis, the StoryBots learn what happens when you flush a toilet. They travel down a toilet and through a wastewater treatment facility, where they encounter a series of “obstacles” that clean the water before it is released back into nature. In this episode, the StoryBots visit the rainforest of Ecuador and a chocolate factory to learn how chocolate is made. Alyssa Milano guest-stars as a chocolatier who teaches the group how cacao beans are transformed into chocolate bars through a series of steps with different machines. After this episode, we encourage you to ask your child what they learned about chocolate-making, and to discuss other themes in the episode such as patience.

In this episode, the StoryBots travel to a spooky castle in their quest to answer the question, how do eyes see? They meet a mad scientist played by guest-star Maria Bamford and go inside of a Frankenstein-esque eye robot to learn about the parts of the eye and the way that light sends signals to your brain. After this episode, we encourage you to ask your child what they learned about sight, and to discuss themes such as curiosity and working together.
