Walrus Pups / Mantis Shrimp

In part 1 of this episode, “Walrus Pups,” the Octonauts help Captain Barnacles and his niece and nephew reunite a group of walrus pups with their moms. In part 2, “Mantis Shrimp,” a pair of fighting mantis shrimps aboard the Octopod nearly cause a disaster when they won’t stop fighting. We encourage you to ask your child what happened in the episode, and to use it as an opportunity to talk to them about working together and resolving conflict.

Baby Sea Turtles / Octopod Mystery

In the first part of this episode, the Octonauts are patiently waiting for a group of baby sea turtles to hatch when they see a wave approaching and work together to transport all of the sea turtle eggs to a safer beach. In part 2 of the episode, the Octonauts need to make a deal with an Octopus inhabiting the old Octopod in order to bring back the bubble converter and repair their ship. After watching this episode, we encourage you to talk to your child about patience and compromise.

In the first part of this episode, Peso meets a group of tree lobsters when a storm tosses him onto a rocky island, then must return a baby tree frog back home after he goes home to the Octopod with an egg stuck in his hat. In the second part of the episode, the group must try out different strategies to get a convict fish and her children to safety when an arch is about to collapse over their burrow. This episode provides opportunities to discuss themes such as helping others and perseverance with your child.

The Great Swamp Search

In “The Great Swamp Search,”  the Octonauts pay a visit to Twig’s dad in the Everglades and work together to rescue invasive species before a lightning storm causes a wildfire. After your child watches this episode, we encourage you to talk to your child about what they learned about invasive species and the everglades, and to ask them how the Octonauts worked together to help the animals.

Crawfish / Surfing Snails

In the first part of this episode, the Octonauts meet a group of crawfish with itchy shell rot spots, and must track down the source of the mysterious disease while also finding a cure. In the second half of the episode, Dashi and the rest of the Octonauts have to rescue a pair of surfing snails when they’re at risk of drowning in big waves. We encourage you to talk to your child about what happened in the episode and how the Octonauts persevered to overcome challenges.

In the first part of the episode, Dashi’s sister, Kashi, joins the Octonauts and helps them solve a mystery involving lost baby snails in the kelp forest. In the second part of the episode, the Octonauts narrowly escape from a group of hippos who are angry they invaded their territory, but ultimately help the hippos when their skin gets dry. After this episode, we encourage you to talk to your child about helping others and solving problems.

In the first part of this episode, Peso finds himself washed up on a beach with a group of yellow-bellied sea snails after a storm, and the Octonauts must find a way to return the snakes to the ocean. In the second part, the Octonauts help a humpback whale with a unique song communicate with the other whales so he can join them to their summer feeding grounds. This episode provides an opportunity to discuss themes with your child including overcoming fear and perseverance.

In the first part of the episode, the Octonauts have to find a way to guide a group of rowdy spinner dolphins out of a bay that’s been cluttered with garbage. In the second part of the episode, the group searches for fossils in a cave, and they have to chase down a mysterious creature when a rare coelacanth fossil goes missing. After they watch this episode, we encourage you to talk to your child about themes including perseverance, patience, and feeling scared.

Afterward, they have to work together to rescue Peso’s cousin Ooju when he falls from an ice bridge into an ice chasm. In the first part of the episode, Peso and Captain Barnacles help Quazi find a coconut thief who’s been taking coconuts from the crabs on Coconut Crab Island. In the second part of the episode, the group helps a sunfish who’s itchy with parasites by bringing gulls and cleaner fish who can clean it off.
